What’s Wrong With the Photo Below?
The photo below, while a little blurry, was taken on July 4th, 2006 on the Spokane River near Ross Point Baptist Camp. There are 13 or 14 people visible on the boat, perhaps more in the cabin. Is it overloaded?
The person riding on the bow should have a sign reading “I'm Stupid”. How many people would be ejected from the boat if it hit a big wake from another boat at this speed? How easily can the driver(s) see in front of the boat to avoid other boats and skiers? How many of these people have easy access to a life jacket? Are there enough life jackets aboard for all of them?
Would mandatory Boater Safety Education help this boat operator do a better job of this a safer holiday for guests?
